3. Self-regulate, be exible, and adaptable:
Leaders who self-regulate are better in controlling their emotions and
responses to people and situations. Being exible and adaptable helps
leaders to move from 'sticking to their own decisions' to 'handing things
realistically by listening to others'.
4. Be empathetic, and honest:
'Empathetic' is being able to understand one's feelings, and thinking. By
practicing 'active listening', leaders show empathy to their employees;
Also, 'honest' is being able to admit what you know and don't know; and
most importantly, stating that 'I don't know but I'll gure out the way'
(needed more often).
5. Communicate often to manage change:
Fact-based consistent, reliable, communication (and overcommunication)
with your audience is key to reduce anxiety. Frequent communication
helps in managing the change by stating why we're doing what we're
doing, how we are doing and what we expect from employees, inuencers,
managers, well-wishers, where you can reach us more for information and
last but not least, by when things will be ready.
6. Work within teams remotely:
With the help of technology & online collaboration tools, work from home
has been more creative, and efficient while saving cost on workplace
infrastructure. It requires a change in mindset and the way leaders
operate within teams. If you sit back and don't bring your team virtually
together every day, it will fall apart.
